Position Overview
Experience
  • Previous experience in food service.
  • Satisfactory employment record required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Valid Food Handler's certificate required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of food products and food preparation techniques.
Physical Requirements
  • Position involves bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs. and standing for long periods of time.
  • Working in a cold environment (2-10 degrees) with some exposure to -18 degrees.
  • Exposure to chemical cleaning supplies.
  • Numeric calculation of menu service requirements.
  • Use of industrial food production equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently in a time sensitive environment.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
