Interview Scheduler - Family Shed

Family Shed aims at ending loneliness and social isolation. You help get the word out by scheduling interviews for founder, Rev. Conrad Hall. You help refine the message to suit the outlet. We provide tools. You provide gumption.

Family Shed is a safe space for soldiers and veterans to come together with the community, where each person can share their knowledge and skills as we build healthy relationships. Family Shed is motivated by personal responsibility and supports community accountability.

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated, dependable, and self‑motivated Interview Scheduler to drive Family Shed’s effort to build an audience in Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe. Your efforts will drive the growth and sustainability of Family Shed. This is an excellent opportunity for the person seeking to enhance their experience in media relations, cause marketing, and messaging.

What You Are Doing
  • Use existing media kit resources to craft the Family Shed message to suit media interests and requirements
  • Refine the Family Shed message to make it attractive to specific and varied audiences
  • Contact media outlets and content creators to schedule interviews
  • Consistently review and modify interview question lists to connect with current events and developing research
Your Qualifications and Our Requirements
  • Previous experience scheduling interviews, communicating with media, and building interview question lists is spectacular. You must understand the differences between a podcast, radio, television, and print interview.
  • Fluency in English written and oral communications. You are the relay point for communication between media and Rev. Hall. You must receive and communicate messages accurately and faithfully.
  • Strong organisational skills that enable you to manage your time and Rev. Hall’s interview calendar.
  • High level of discretion, reliability, and trustworthiness because you are going to know things before the public. You must keep information secret.
  • Be comfortable working independently while maintaining communication with Rev. Hall, and occasionally attending in‑person meetings with the Family Shed team.
  • Experience using MS Office programs and Google Workspace (especially Drive and Gmail). We will teach you how to use Guest Match, Copper CRM, and other tools we use.
  • Being fluent in French or Spanish is helpful but far from required.
Commitment
  • Look to invest 6–10 hours per week
  • The schedule is flexible based on when media personnel and content creators are available
What You’ll Gain
  • The value of building a network of media contacts
  • Experience working in a supportive, encouraging, and demanding environment
  • Direct mentorship from an experienced founder, author, and speaker
  • Opportunity to learn how a message is kept accurate while crafting it to fit multiple audiences
