INTERVENTIONAL GASTROENTEROLOGIST

Brandon Regional Health Centre is seeking an Interventional Gastroenterologist to join their team. The ideal candidate should have excellent skills in interventional gastroenterology and the ability to perform minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal disorders.

Position Summary

Brandon Regional Health Centre is a fully accredited multi-specialty facility with 300+ bed capacity and is currently undergoing a $110 million-dollar expansion of our inpatient care facilities, expected to be completed by 2026. Our facility operates 3 endoscopy rooms, with a fleet of 45 scopes and offers a high level of service to the Region.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders
  • Prescribe post-operation medication and treatment
  • Treat diseases, injuries and deformities
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures

Required qualifications

  • The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree with specialization in endoscopy and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Candidates with advanced endoscopy training preferred

Remuneration/Hours

Remuneration is derived from fee-for-service billing as per the current Manitoba physicians’ manual negotiated in the Master Agreement between the Minister of Health, Seniors and Active Living and Doctors Manitoba.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

The work environment is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. The successful candidate must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel.
