Penticton Regional Hospital is seeking a General Internal Medicine specialist with a focus on Cardiology and echo interpretation (Level 2). Opportunities exist to pursue transesophageal echo training and to cover internal medicine and critical care call shifts.

The role combines acute inpatient medicine with ICU care and outpatient perioperative medicine, rapid access cardiology clinics, and an urgent general medicine assessment clinic.

Responsibilities

Role and Facility Information

Fantastic opportunity for a General Internal Medicine specialist, with a specific interest in Cardiology and training in echocardiography interpretation (Level 2), to join the collegial team at Penticton Regional Hospital. Training or a willingness to pursue training in transesophageal echo is an asset. FRCPC-trained cardiologists who are also interested in covering internal medicine and critical care call coverage are encouraged to apply.

In this General Internal Medicine position, you will be part of our talented group of collegial and dedicated internists providing comprehensive, quality patient-centered care. Enjoy a stimulating mix of acute inpatient medicine including ICU care as well as outpatient clinics in perioperative medicine, Rapid Access Cardiology Clinics, and an urgent General Medicine Assessment Clinic. There are also opportunities for independent, private-practice outpatient clinics.

Working alongside an excellent team of hospital-based family physicians, surgeons, and internal medicine subspecialists you will experience how this team truly creates the work environment you have longed for! You will also have the opportunity to be actively involved in collaboration with the University of British Columbias Southern Medical Program, teaching and mentoring Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents.

Subspecialty interest is welcomed, particularly in Perioperative Care or Addictions Medicine, where there are opportunities to develop new programs. Compensation Type Fee-for-Service Estimated Remuneration $450,000+ based on hours worked, plus MOCAP level 1
