Job summary

The Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre in British Columbia seeks a Clinical Respirologist to join a group of four respirologists.

The successful candidate will share inpatient on-call duties for the respirology consult service and establish an outpatient practice to serve Fraser East. Leadership opportunities exist to implement EBUS and expand interventional pulmonary services.

Qualifications

Role and Facility Information

The Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC) is looking for a Clinical Respirologist to join a group of 4 existing respirologists.

The successful candidate will share inpatient on call responsibilities for the hospital respirology consult service. The candidate is also expected to have an outpatient practice available locally to serve the population of Fraser East for general respirology.

Some of the existing services for respirology service include pulmonary function lab, Level 1 sleep lab in addition to access to flexible bronchoscopy. EBUS is an expected addition in the upcoming expansion of services, with confirmed funding. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to take a leadership role in implementing EBUS and expanding interventional pulmonary services in the hospital.

Abbotsford Regional Hospital has inpatient service coverage on an internal medicine unit run by General Internal Medicine MRP group as well as hospitalist units. There are also multiple internal medicine subspecialty groups, including nephrology, neurology and cardiology, in addition to gastroenterology and infectious diseases services. The respirology position does not include MRP responsibilities.

Qualifications

The candidate must have passed the Royal College Examination in Internal Medicine & Respirology and must demonstrate evidence of sufficient clinical experience in all areas of Respirology. Experience in interventional respirology, including linear/radial endobronchial ultrasound will be considered an asset, along with competency in all aspects in general respirology.
