Role

The intermediate technician is the first level of skilled work. He/she may require supervision from more experienced technicians or technical/engineering staff. The Intermediate Antenna Technician will perform a variety of tasks, of low to medium complexity, related to antenna systems. He/she will use state-of-the-art instrumentation and test facilities to ensure that antenna performance, once in orbit, will meet customer requirements and deliver the communications service required by the mission.

Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Assemble and modify test benches according to specific written instructions.
  • Assemble, modify and verify equipment test benches.
  • Test, align and calibrate units and systems of intermediate complexity.
  • Perform bench tests with the vector network analyzer. In particular, S-parameter measurements.
  • Assist with FAPT/nearfield, multipaction/high power, PIM, FTR and CATR tests.
  • Record data relating to test or experiment results.
  • Follow and understand flight test processes.
  • Perform work in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with our occupational health and safety rules.
  • Perform other related duties.

Qualifications
  • College diploma or equivalent in electronics or related field.
  • 2 to 5 years' relevant experience.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset (Contact with customers outside Québec, work on English-language deliverables).
  • Relevant knowledge and experience.
Comments / Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
