Job summary

CIMA+ is expanding its Infrastructure team in BC and seeks a Structural Engineer to work on industrial and municipal infrastructure projects in Vancouver. You will engage in underground structures, substations, retaining walls, and utility systems while collaborating with civil, structural, electrical, and geotechnical groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (asset).
  • Professional Licensed member of the EGBC (or eligible).
  • +8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in SAP2000, SAFE, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong report writing and proposal development skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Complete structural analysis and design and prepare drawings and specifications.
  • Determine construction costs and quantities, and carry out studies and technical reports.
  • Conduct field work including investigations/inspections for the design, retrofit, remediation and construction of structures.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, utility authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Review progress and compliance of construction work in accordance with tender documents.
  • Assist in proposal preparation, scope definition, and fee estimation.

Our growing Infrastructure team in BC is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Vancouver office. The successful candidate will work on industrial and municipal infrastructure projects involving underground structures, electrical substations, retaining walls and utility infrastructure systems.

Our projects include underground concrete structures (vaults, manholes, chambers), duct banks, substations, utility corridors, equipment foundations, and related industrial facilities. We work within multidisciplinary teams providing civil, structural, electrical, and geotechnical coordination to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Complete structural analysis and design and prepare drawings and specifications
  • Determine construction costs and quantities, and carry out studies and technical reports
