Responsibilities
  • Prepare design criteria and construction specifications.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and assist in the preparation of capital cost estimates.
  • Conduct asset inspections.
  • Review field data and inspection reports.
  • Conduct field work and support during construction.
  • Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with project team members, clients, sub-consultants, contractors and regulatory and environmental approval agencies.
  • Liaise with clients to determine client requirements and prepare proposals, design work cost estimates, and project scheduling.
  • Mentor/direct junior staff and review their work.
  • Actively encourage and support a safety-oriented culture.
  • Travel as required for various field programs.
What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • 5-10 years prior experience in structural engineering.
  • Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia.
  • Design and inspection experience in industrial structures including shiploader equipment, conveyors, transfer towers, warehouses, and material handling structures for waterfront facilities.
  • Experience in large scale industrial and terminal projects.
  • Experience with seismic design, structural analysis software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal).

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in civil engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.

For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $70,015 to $124,409. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
