Overview

Our civil in Trail, BC is growing! We are looking to add an Intermediate Structural Engineer to help with our projects in the Energy, Industrial, and Mining sectors. We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and entrepreneurial professional with team spirit. As an Intermediate Structural Engineer in our Trail, BC office, you will contribute to the execution of projects both at the office and on site. You’ll also have opportunities to work closely with colleagues from other offices across Canada, the US, and South America. Join BBA and make the most of your experience by actively contributing to the various stages of structural engineering projects, from the earliest stages of the business relationship to onsite construction support. You’ll be using your leadership skills every day, whether it’s to develop trusting relationships with our partners in the region, train the next generation or manage a passionate team.

Responsibilities
  • Design and analyse structural systems for industrial and mining facilities and hydroelectric plants, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to evaluate structural integrity and recommend necessary retrofits
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff
  • Participate in business development
  • Assess client satisfaction and maintain close, harmonious relations with the client or their representatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree is an asset
  • From 5-10 years of experience
  • P.Eng or P.Eng in progress
  • Available to visit our clients (20% to 40% of the time on a yearly basis)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency in technical writing
