Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their team! The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of progressive experience in Commercial Lines underwriting at MGA.

Location: Hybrid in Ontario

Responsibilities
  • Review & apply pricing, terms & conditions to new & renewal business.
  • Maintain and grow existing relationships with key retail producing brokers.
  • Develop out new broker relationships, including broker visits & discussions
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting strategies and decision
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance market presence and build professional relationships
Requirements
  • 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience
  • Prior working experience with MGA is preferred
  • Level 1 General Insurance license
  • A (CIP) or equivalent or working towards a designation is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong underwriting acumen, effective communication, and negotiation skills
