Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking an Intermediate Pavement Engineer to support pavement design for MTO projects across Canada, reporting to the Senior Pavement Engineer. You will assist in delivering technical designs, reports and documentation while maintaining schedules and client communications.

The role requires a University degree in Civil Engineering, Ontario P.Eng., and at least 5 years of pavement design experience in a professional setting. Fluency in English is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
• Professional Engineer license in Ontario (P.Eng.) is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of pavement design experience in professional services.

Responsibilities

• Support pavement engineering elements of transportation projects for MTO in Canada.
• Monitor industry standards, assess client needs and propose concrete solutions.
• Develop site investigations and prepare engineering documents and designs.
• Monitor project schedules and deliver work by agreed deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, government bodies and contractors; manage existing and new clients.

About the Role

• Reporting to the Senior Pavement Engineer, the Intermediate Pavement Engineer, will be responsible for supporting the overall success of MTO Projectsin Canada.
• Act in a supporting role on delivery of pavement engineering elements of transportation infrastructure projects for MTO.
• Monitoring industry standards and developments, assessing client needs and making concrete decisions on proposed solutions. Monitoring project financial performance and invoicing clients promptly.
• Develop and carry out site investigations for a variety of pavement design clients.
• Participated in the preparation of Engineering Documents for a variety of geotechnical deliverables.
• Preparing technical designs, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
• Monitoring project schedule to ensure we deliver by agreed-upon due dates.
• Advancing projects through the concept and detailed design phases, managing existing clients and developing new clients.
• Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors.

What do we need from you

• Completion of a University degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive related pavement design experience within a professional services environment. MTOexperience considered an asset.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders.
• Thorough knowledge in Municipal/Provincial Engineering including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in delivery of large scale projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. French an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
