Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer to join its Western Canada team. You will work with P&C detailed designers on large-scale electrical energy projects across Canada, focusing on substations, hydroelectric facilities, and renewables.

Responsibilities

  • Design and review the protection and control drawings of substation systems and power systems
  • Collaborate with members of the engineering team as well as project managers from other disciplines
  • Prepare plans, drawings and calculations based on specifications provided
  • Responsible for the development of electrical Command and Protection systems, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, three-line AC diagrams, protection and cc. control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection drawings, assembly plans, material lists and quotes for the manufacturing and installation on site of Control and Protection panels
  • Supervise the development of AC and DC station service power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC & DC load calculations, AC & DC distribution diagrams, connection drawings of chargers, batteries, inverter, etc.
  • Participate in site surveys (stations and power stations)

As an Intermediate Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer, you will be working with a team of P&C detailed designers and contribute to large-scale electrical energy projects. You will evolve in a multidisciplinary environment and develop skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on substation, hydroelectric power station, and renewable energy projects, with numerous clients across Canada.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and review the protection and control drawings of substation systems and power systems
