Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking an Intermediate Machine Learning Engineer to join the AI/ML Operations & Platform team. You will design and deploy ML models, build pipelines, and collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists, and product teams to operationalize models across the organization.

The role requires 2-4 years in ML engineering, strong Python and SQL skills, and experience with AWS and Snowflake. A hybrid work model and opportunities for career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/DS/Engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in machine learning engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost.
• Familiarity with AWS and/or Snowflake cloud services; Linux experience.
• Basic experience with Jenkins and containerization (Docker).
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of query optimization.
• Exposure to ML workflow tools (MLflow, Airflow) and monitoring is a plus.

What you’ll bring:

• Proficiency in Python, along with data processing and ML libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost).

• Familiarity with AWS and/or Snowflake cloud services, as well as Linux-based systems.

• Basic experience with Jenkins and containerization tools such as Docker.

• Strong SQL skills, including an understanding of query optimization techniques.

• Exposure to ML workflow tools (e.g., MLflow, Airflow) and monitoring frameworks is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $115,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
