Job summary

A technology services company in Calgary is looking for an Intermediate IT Support Specialist to provide technical support and assistance to clients. The candidate will diagnose and resolve IT issues, manage hardware and software system operations, and ensure compliance with security protocols. This full-time in-person role requires 5-10 years of experience in IT, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Travel within Canada may be required for this position.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in the IT field.
  • Experience on Servers, Printers, and Hardware Support.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for hardware and software issues.
  • Manage NOC inquiries, prioritizing customer service.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of software and hardware.

Position Overview

As an Intermediate IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to our clients. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving IT issues, maintaining hardware and software systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' IT environments.

This is a full-time in-person position based out of our Calgary office and offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge technologies and collaborate with a talented team of IT professionals.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide on‑site and remote technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues across various operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
  • Manage NOC inquiries, prioritizing customer service and effective communication.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and deployment of software, hardware, and network systems.
  • Ensure IT systems comply with security protocols, data privacy regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership on infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvement projects.
  • Maintain documentation of support activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Post‑Secondary School Diploma/Community College in Computer Technology or equivalent experience
  • 5‑10 years of experience in the IT field
  • Outstanding Customer Service
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Relevant experience with ticketing systems
  • In depth knowledge of current IT Technologies and solutions
  • Proficiency in Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Workspace
  • Proven experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certifications are a plus
  • Experience on Servers, Printers, and Hardware Support is required
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work after hours when required is a must
  • Ability to travel within Canada for up to a full week once month is a must
  • Must be able to procure and operate a rental vehicle
  • Clear criminal record
