Job summary

SHIFT Interiors in Vancouver, BC, is seeking an experienced interior designer to lead design development from concept through installation. You will work closely with the Creative Director to ensure drawings, specifications, procurement and installation are executed smoothly.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in private residential interior design, fluency with AutoCAD and SketchUp, and a strong knowledge of BC Building Code. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Formal education in Interior Design or Architecture.
• 4+ years demonstrated experience in private residential interior design.
• Fluency with AutoCAD and SketchUp for drawings and 3D models.
• Project management and leadership across interior design projects.
• Good working knowledge of BC Building Code and bylaws.
• Experience in contract administration and coordination of construction data.

THE JOB

Having a strong understanding of all elements of the design process, you are effectively able to

support multiple design projects from concept to completion. Working closely with the Creative

Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that design development, drawing and

specification packages, procurement, and installation are all executed effectively.

THE SKILLS

• Formal education in Interior Design or Architecture
• 4+ years demonstrated experience working in private residential interior design
• AutoCAD and Sketchup fluency - You can produce full drawing sets and 3D models independently, without needing support
• Project Management and Leadership - Experience in the full scope of coordinating and managing interior design projects
• Confident managing and producing drawing and spec packages for client presentations, permitting and construction
• Good working knowledge of BC Building Code and bylaws
• Demonstrated experience in contract administration and coordination of constructiondata with contractors, trades, suppliers, etc.
• Experience working in the mid-range to high-end residential interior design spheres; you understand the products, projects, and clients
• A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Salary Range for this role is $35/hour - $38/hour
