About the Role

Our client is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join their Vancouver office. The role involves supporting and leading interior design work across commercial tenant improvements, multi‑family residential, hospitality and mixed‑use projects. The ideal candidate combines creative flair with strong technical proficiency and enjoys working closely with architects, consultants and clients to bring spaces to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with architects and senior designers on design development and documentation for interiors across multiple sectors
  • Prepare and assemble complete drawing packages from concept through BP, tender and IFC
  • Source and specify materials, finishes and FF&E aligned with project goals and budgets
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors and municipal authorities for permit applications and technical submissions
  • Apply knowledge of the 2024 BC Building Code to ensure design and construction compliance
  • Produce detailed millwork drawings and construction detailing
  • Prepare design presentations, renderings and finish schedules
  • Manage time effectively while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communicate clearly with senior designers, project architects, clients and consultants
  • Support and mentor junior designers when required
Qualifications
  • Completion of a certified Interior Design program; a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design is an asset
  • Minimum five years of professional experience with a Canadian architectural or interior design firm
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp; experience with Revit, Enscape, Photoshop or InDesign is an asset
  • Proven ability to produce and coordinate detailed drawing sets for commercial, multi‑family and hospitality projects
  • Strong understanding of BC Building Code 2024 and municipal permit processes
  • Skilled in construction and millwork detailing
  • Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively
