AlayaCare in Montreal is seeking a Fullstack Developer (Python) to join the Admission & Marketplace team. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects while learning modern development practices, and be supported by mentors who help you grow technically and professionally.

The role focuses on building scalable, reliable software, with opportunities to work across front-end and back-end, test-driven development, code reviews, and collaboration with product owners to deliver value for care providers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science.
• 2-4+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Experience developing applications in Python and writing unit tests using PyTest.
• Familiarity with PHP and JavaScript; Vue.js is an asset.
• Relational databases, SQL, Git, CI/CD, and Docker.
• Exposure to SQLAlchemy and cloud platforms; AWS is a plus.
• Interest in modern software practices and AI-assisted development.
• Strong problem analysis and clear communication in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and debug software as part of a product Dev team.
• Spend a majority of time coding and contributing deliverables.
• Participate in code reviews, discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Apply engineering patterns to improve reuse, extensibility, and maintenance.

About the Role

We are seeking a Fullstack Developer (Python) to join our Admission & Marketplace team. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects while learning modern development practices, tools, and workflows, and be supported by mentors who will help you develop both your technical abilities and professional skills. The Admission & Marketplace initiative in AlayaCare Cloud streamlines referrals, intake coordination, and care planning while enabling providers to collaborate across agencies. By eliminating manual processes like phone calls and faxes, and by empowering agencies to subcontract efficiently, these tools accelerate scheduling, strengthen partnerships, and improve outcomes for businesses, care workers, and clients.
On the Client Intake front, help transform how home care referrals are received, processed, and coordinated through completely rebuilt intake workflow built around agentic capabilities. Streamline intake operations, reduce manual work, and help agencies move clients into care faster, improving efficiency for care teams and outcomes for clients.
With the Marketplace offering, extend the future of collaboration between care providers. Work on a new Supplier Portal project that simplifies provider onboarding, profile management, and connections between agencies with care needs and available capacity. Unlock new markets, reduce administrative effort, and strengthen partnerships across the home care ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

• Design, code, test, and debug software as a full-time member of a product development team, with a strong focus on quality, maintainability, and reliable delivery.
• Spend 75% or more of your time coding and contributing directly to the team’s deliverables.
• Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Apply established engineering patterns and contribute to improving component reuse, extensibility, maintainability, and scalability.
• Monitor applications in production, investigate issues, and work with the team to resolve problems affecting clients.
• Contribute to technical roadmap initiatives and support the responsible adoption of technologies and practices that align with product and engineering objectives.
• In the future, participate in an on-call rotation that respects your time and supports the software owned by your team.
• Identify gaps or ambiguities in product requirements and collaborate with Product Owners and team members to design solutions that meet client needs.
• Plan, implement, and maintain end-to-end automated tests that support the delivery of high-quality software.
• Develop a strong understanding of the core concepts, tools, and practices of your craft, and share knowledge with teammates when appropriate.
• Recognize potential problems and delivery barriers, raise concerns early, and seek support from senior team members or management when needed.
• Take ownership of assigned work from design through production, while progressively expanding your technical knowledge and responsibilities.

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, or any related fields.
• 2-4+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Experience developing applications in Python and writing unit tests using PyTest or a similar testing framework.
• Familiarity with PHP and JavaScript; experience with Vue.js or a similar front-end framework is an asset.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, Git, CI/CD practices, and containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Exposure to object-relational mapping tools such as SQLAlchemy and cloud computing platforms; AWS experience is an asset.
• An interest in staying current with software development practices, tools, performance, and emerging technologies.
• Strong knowledge of AI-assisted development practices combined with a proactive approach to keeping pace with advancements
• Ability to analyze technical problems, evaluate possible solutions, and seek guidance when appropriate.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

English fluency is required to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and partners outside Quebec, where English is the primary working language.
