Job description
About Us

At #paid, we’re on a mission to empower creators to do what they love—create. Our marketplace connects vetted creators with some of the world’s most iconic brands, like McDonald’s, Samsung, and Disney, fostering authentic collaborations that drive real business results. We’ve built a marketplace that solves big challenges in the creator ecosystem, from fair pricing to algorithmic matching and content usage rights, ensuring every partnership is seamless and impactful.

With our proprietary technology and an unwavering commitment to trust and transparency, we’re revolutionizing the way brands and creators come together to make magic. Rated #1 for customer support and managed services, #paid is leading the creator marketing space. Through innovative technology and a team of ambitious humans, we're transforming the future of the creator economy.

The Role

You have worked as part of small to medium-sized teams and participated in planning, designing, and shipping small-to-medium scale applications. You contribute to building robust, reusable, and user friendly web components, designing and deploying platform APIs, and finding elegant solutions to complex problems. You are excited to contribute to an established product, creating new features from the ground up or iterating on existing ones while growing your skills. You have an eye for design and strong attention to detail.

We use a range of technologies to get the job done: JavaScript and Node.js coupled with OpenAPI, React, Next.js, storybook and other libraries to provide a modern, easy-to-use Javascript toolchain. A RESTful API back-end powers our platform services.

Day to day

  • Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, work together on your personal growth and objectives

  • Work with Product Managers, Product Designs and other Software Engineers to execute the product roadmap

  • Write production-ready code that is performance optimized, easily testable and understood by other developers, and accounts for edge cases and errors

  • Commit to 2-week time-boxed sprints with daily standups

  • Communicate with the team through our productivity tools (Slack, Jira, GitHub, etc.)

  • Practice test-driven development

  • Analyze and troubleshoot production issues

  • Identify opportunities to learn and grow your skills

  • Contribute to technical design documents and architecture diagrams

Minimum qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software engineering role

  • Proven history of excelling in a team-based, collaborative environment

  • Knowledge of front-end development, including JavaScript, React, and CSS

  • Knowledge of client-side tooling such as Webpack, Storybook and testing libraries

  • Experience designing and documenting APIs (we use Node.js, Fastify, OpenAPI Spec)

  • Intermediate-level knowledge of back-end development stack (Node.js, PostreSQL, Redis)

  • Experience reviewing code and giving constructive feedback to peers

  • Eligible for Full-Time employment in Canada

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of React and key React patterns and libraries (e.g. data fetching, state management, etc.)

  • Experience with a styling framework such as Tailwind, Styled Components, Emotion or others

  • Experience with Next.js, Remix or using React without a framework

  • Experience in building scalable production services and monitoring performance (GCP, CloudFlare)

  • Experience with the Docker ecosystem

Why #paid
