Job summary

Ambipar Response Canada Inc. in Swift Current is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Consultant to support field investigations, reclamation projects, and site assessments.

You will work under a Project Manager to execute scopes of work, manage client requirements, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Travel and fieldwork will be routine.

Ideal candidates hold a related degree, 2–5 years of experience, and a valid driver’s license; 4x4 access is preferred for remote sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science or Reclamation.
  • Professional designation or articling to obtain is asset.
  • 2–5 years of relevant field experience.
  • Knowledge of the Water Act; wetland classification is an asset.
  • Understanding upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in AB & BC.
  • Experience with reclamation and remediation on private and public lands.
  • Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills.
  • Good physical health with willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • AIA and/or SIA membership preferred but not necessary.
  • Must have access to 4x4 vehicle with a valid class 5 licence.

Responsibilities

  • Execute scopes of work and cost estimates under supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Supervise reclamation and remediation projects of various scales.
  • Assist with Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments.
  • Complete detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring.
  • Coordinate and supervise tree planting.
  • Manage client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, directives and SOPs.
  • Implement internal and client safety programs.
  • Stay current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Ambipar Response Canada Inc. is currently seeking Intermediate Environmental Consultants based out of the Swift Current area.

WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF:
  • Execute scopes of work and cost estimates under the supervision of the Project Manager
  • Ensure project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Supervise small and large-scale reclamation and remediation projects
  • Assist with execution of Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments
  • Complete detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring
  • Coordinate and supervise tree planting
  • Manage and meet all client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives and SOP's
  • Implement internal and client safety programs
  • Remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, provide updated information as it becomes available to staff
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation or similar discipline
