The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us - Join a team shaping the water, wastewater, and industrial infrastructure powering resilient communities across Western Canada. As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer based in Vancouver or Victoria, you\'ll apply your electrical, instrumentation, and controls expertise to complex and meaningful projects—contributing to systems that keep communities safe, sustainable, and future-ready.

Your Impact
  • Design robust LV and MV electrical systems, including substations, generators, switchgear, MCCs, and power distribution for pump stations, water treatment facilities, and industrial plants.
  • Develop electrical system models using ETAP or EasyPower, performing power flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, motor starting, and harmonics studies to ensure safe, optimized system performance.
  • Produce high-quality project deliverables including SLDs, three-lines, grounding layouts, schematics, P&IDs, cable schedules, fire alarm risers, panel layouts, and construction-ready drawings.
  • Lead electrical, instrumentation, and control components of local Water & Wastewater projects, ensuring alignment with project vision, client expectations, and cross-discipline coordination.
  • Carry out field reviews, verifying installation quality, supporting commissioning activities, and ensuring designs translate into safe and constructible solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with municipal and industrial clients through reliable execution, responsive communication, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and growing Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland electrical team, mentoring early-career engineers and supporting continuous improvement.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • You bring 8+ years of electrical consulting design experience in the industrial, water, or wastewater sectors, with hands-on involvement from preliminary design through construction and commissioning.
  • You hold a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s in Electrical Engineering and are a P.Eng (or immediately eligible) with EGBC.
  • You\'re fluent in power system analysis using ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower, and you\'re comfortable solving real-world electrical challenges in operating industrial systems.
  • You understand plant automation and controls—PLC/RTU/DCS/SCADA systems—and can design communication networks using protocols such as Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, DeviceNet, and Ethernet.
  • You bring strong working knowledge of CEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEMA, ANSI, and related standards.
  • You excel in environments where quality, accountability, client service, and smart project delivery drive your work.
