Job summary

Worley in Markham, Ontario seeks an Instrumentation Engineer with nuclear sector experience to develop and review instrumentation and electrical deliverables for major refurbishment and new builds. You will work within safety, quality, and regulatory frameworks while supporting diverse project teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing instrumentation and electrical deliverables for nuclear projects.
  • Knowledge of CSA N285, N286, N299 and related standards.
  • Experience supporting Ontario nuclear projects (OPG/Bruce Power).
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eligibility for security clearance and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles and standards to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

  • Support engineering and field activities across design, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Participate in design reviews, meetings, and field walkdowns to ensure successful delivery.
  • Track work, manage priorities, and support delivery within schedule and budget.
  • Support knowledge sharing and junior team development.
  • Identify engineering risks and ensure deliverables meet quality and regulatory requirements.

Purpose

Worley is seeking a Instrumentation Engineer in Markham, Ontario with demonstrated experience in the Ontario nuclear sector (OPG or Bruce Power). You will be supporting complex I&C designs and modifications on major refurbishment and new build projects while upholding Worley’s standards for safety and technical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review instrumentation and electrical engineering deliverables including Descriptive System Documents (DSDs), loop drawings, instrument specifications, control narratives, logic diagrams, and related design documentation.
  • Apply engineering principles, nuclear codes, standards, and client specifications to deliver safe, quality, and compliant solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support project execution.
  • Support engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and field implementation activities as required.
  • Participate in design reviews, project meetings, field walkdowns, and client engagements to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Track assigned work, manage priorities, and contribute to delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Support knowledge sharing, continuous improvement initiatives, and the development of junior team members.
  • Identify engineering risks, propose practical solutions, and ensure all deliverables meet Worley quality and regulatory requirements.
What You Will Bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
  • Experience developing instrumentation and electrical engineering deliverables for nuclear projects, including design documentation, specifications, control system documentation, and engineering calculations.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian nuclear industry codes, standards, regulations, and quality assurance requirements, including CSA N285, N286, N299, and related standards.
  • Experience supporting nuclear projects for Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and/or Bruce Power.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements, solve engineering problems, and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project commitments.
  • Experience supporting design reviews, field activities, testing, commissioning, or plant modifications is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD, AVEVA, or similar engineering software platforms.
  • A growth mindset and desire to contribute to the continued advancement of Canada's nuclear industry.
  • Direct experience supporting projects for Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and/or Bruce Power.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain security clearance for access to Canadian nuclear facilities.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and nuclear facilities as required.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant instrumentation, controls, and/or electrical engineering experience, preferably within the nuclear industry.
Required
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario, or actively pursuing licensure.

For applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $102,268 to $120,316 CAD.

Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
