Job description

• Position: INTERMEDIATE DRAFTING TECHNOLOGIST

MPE is seeking the services of a detail-oriented individual for an intermediate drafting technologist position within our water resources team in Calgary Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, processing surveys, and using Autodesk Civil 3D and other Autodesk software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with engineers, technologists, and project managers to develop civil engineering drawings.
• Duties may involve drafting of site plans, earthworks, structures, plan/profiles, and details.
• Work closely and communicate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop complete drawing packages.
• Typical projects may include earthworks, dams, canals, pipelines, and drainage systems with a particular focus on water resources and conveyance systems.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

• Diploma in Drafting or Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline,
• 2-5 years direct drafting experience with Autodesk Civil 3D,
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills,
• Possess excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Additional assets may include:

• Experience using Civil 3D to generate pipe networks, corridors, alignments, surfaces and site grading,
• Experience with Virtual Surveyor software,
• Eligibility for registration with ASET.
