Job summary

Nokia is hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer in Ottawa to design complex multilayer PCBs for Data Center and Carrier Service Provider solutions. You will drive the design from concept to production, ensuring high-speed signaling performance and reliability.

You will verify prototypes under thermal conditions, collaborate with manufacturing to release products, and address customer issues with technical insight. A M.Sc.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.Sc or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience designing complex PCB designs.
• Experience with high-speed PCB design and signal integrity.

Subfamily Description

Join our team as we continue to expand our product portfolio in the Data Center and Carrier Service Provider. The IP Routing Hardware organization is very flat - there are few levels of management between the Individual Contributor and the VP of Hardware. We are also very lean - each Hardware Engineer spends more time doing engineering work and less time on overhead. As a result, your work has high visibility, and your decisions directly impact product design.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

• Design complex, multilayer printed circuit boards
• Drive and manage your design through the development process from concept to production release
• Verify prototype hardware under thermal and environmental conditions
• Work with the Factory to release a high-quality product
• Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally

Key Skills And Experience

Minimum B.Sc or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

• 5+ years of experience designing complex PCB designs
• Understanding of Ultra high-speed PCB circuit design and methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills

It would be nice if you also had:

• Experience with stack-up design, signal integrity simulation, and power circuitry
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI/Safety and ITU/IEEE/Bellcore telecommunications standards
• Programming/Scripting ability (C/Python)
