What you can expect to do here:
  • Design and deliver municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, contributing to all technical phases from concept to construction.
  • Provide technical design support for municipal infrastructure including sanitary sewers, watermains, site layout, grading, utility coordination, cut and fill (site optimization), and drainage systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, design calculations, and cost estimates to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Support field investigations, condition assessments, and construction inspections, providing timely technical input and responding to site queries.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (structural, electrical, geotechnical, environmental, etc.) and participate in client and stakeholder meetings to deliver integrated project outcomes.
  • Assist project managers in tracking progress, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, proactively identifying and resolving technical or logistical challenges.
  • Contribute to proposal development, design briefs, and internal quality reviews, supporting business development and maintaining technical excellence.
  • Continue growing your expertise through active learning, mentorship, and collaboration in a dynamic and innovative work environment.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from a recognized institution, with E.I.T. or P.Eng. registration in Ontario (or eligibility).
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in municipal engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure design.
  • Experience with conveyance facilities such as pump stations and/or trenchless technologies (CIPP lining, microtunneling, HDD, etc.) will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Ontario municipal design standards, codes, and approval processes, with working knowledge of hydraulic analysis and alignment design.
  • Demonstrated experience in hydraulic evaluations, feasibility studies, design reports, construction drawings and specifications, tender preparation, and construction support services.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
