Arcadis in Toronto is seeking an Intermediate Bridge Engineer to join our growing team. The role focuses on designing bridges, culverts, and related structures, with leadership in development of innovative solutions and collaboration across disciplines.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of bridge design experience, PE licensure, and strong skills in structural analysis and CAD, ready to contribute to sustainable infrastructure projects in Canada.

Qualifications

• Must hold PE license in Ontario or equivalent Canadian licensure.
• Minimum seven years of design experience for new bridges and rehabilitations.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and provincial standards.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently within a project team.
• Strong attention to detail, deadlines, and quality.
• RAQs qualification and prior MTO project experience are assets.

Arcadis is seeking an Intermediate Bridge Engineer to join our growing team in Toronto.

Bring your progressive experience in the design and construction of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation-related structures. Lead the development of creative solutions for new bridge designs and rehabilitation projects, drawing on your expertise in inspections, investigations, and the preparation of technical assessment reports. Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will take the lead in preparing both preliminary and detailed designs for bridges, culverts, and other transportation-related structures. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing structural analysis and calculations to ensure the safety, durability, and efficiency of our projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen attention to detail while preparing comprehensive reports and contract documents, helping to lay the foundation for successful project delivery.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your work, as you coordinate and review drawing production and maintain close communication with other engineering disciplines. Your ability to foster teamwork and project collaboration will be essential in delivering high-quality results. In addition, you will serve as a key point of contact during the construction phase, providing construction liaison services and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications. Upholding rigorous quality control and quality assurance standards will be a central part of your role.

Beyond technical skills, you will have a passion for mentoring, coaching, and inspiring others within the team. Sharing your knowledge and supporting the professional growth of junior team members will contribute to our collaborative culture. You will also play a part in the business development process by assisting with the preparation of proposals and bids for new work, helping Arcadis to continue building a strong portfolio of impactful projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from an accredited university
• Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (or other Provincial Association)
• Minimum Seven (7) years of design experience for new bridges and bridge rehabilitations for various bridge types and materials including highway and rail bridges
• Knowledge in structural analysis software for the evaluation and analysis of all types of bridges and working knowledge of CAD software
• Experience and proven knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, and provincial/territorial standards
• Initiative and ability to work independently and to provide direction to other members of a Project Team with a collaborative attitude
• A commitment to deadlines, excellence and high quality work with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Analytical thinker and problem solver with the ability to present ideas and design rational
• RAQs qualification and previous MTO project experience is an asset in our Bridge Engineering disciplines

The salary range for this position is $93,000 - $139,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
