Job summary

ASPECT Structural Engineers, based in Toronto, ON, is seeking an Intermediate BIM Technician to join our team in September 2026.   • Understand architectural and structural drawings and develop structural design drawings and 3D models according to project standards.
  • Execute BIM projects of all sizes and prepare design submissions and technical documents.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Revit model and drawing production and parameter management.
  • Mentor junior BIM technicians and collaborate across offices in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure accurate design intent and constructability.

We are looking for an Intermediate BIM Technician to join our passionate, talented team. This role is based in Toronto, ON, with the expected start date in September 2026.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Have a deep understanding of architectural and structural drawings
  • Develop structural design drawings and 3D models according to Aspect’s project quality standards
  • Execute BIM projects of all sizes
  • Prepare design submissions and other technical documents
  • Be proficient with Revit model and drawing production
  • Be proficient in family and parameter management and development
  • Perform detailed drafting under the supervision of the principal-in-charge
  • Be able to work on projects that require creating and solving complex geometry
  • Contribute to the team’s technical knowledge resources as well as mentor junior BIM technicians
  • Collaborate with team members across other offices in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Be involved in ongoing communication and coordination with contractors, other consultants, and suppliers
  • Contribute to a fun and welcoming work environment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in a similar position with a background in commercial, residential, and/or institutional projects.
  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate from a related program
  • Excellence in reading, interpreting, and producing structural engineering plans and details
  • Strong Revit skills, including family modification and model and parameter management
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and an appreciation for clear and well-coordinated drawings
  • Effective at engaging with clients and colleagues through Zoom
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently, seeking support as necessary
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrated success in collaboration
EXTRA AWESOME
  • Experience with architecturally expressive structures in a wide variety of building materials
  • Background in CAD/CAM fabrication software
  • Experience with Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, or other parametric modeling experience
  • Experience with BIM360

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
  • Base Salary CAD $60,000 - $85,000 (will be commensurate with skillset and experience).
