A leading defence and aerospace company in Ottawa is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Manager to oversee IP portfolio management and protection. This role requires collaboration across various teams and the development of IP strategies aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate has at least ten years of experience in IP, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of IP laws. This position is full-time and requires eligibility to work in Canada.
We are looking for an experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Manager to lead the management and protection of our intellectual property portfolio across Canada. In this role you will work at the intersection of technology, innovation and strategy by helping safeguard the ideas and solutions that drive our success in the defence and aerospace industry. Partnering with engineering, legal and business teams you will ensure that IP is effectively maintained, leveraged and aligned with business and program objectives. You will be responsible for identifying, managing and protecting the company’s IP assets including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. A key focus will be creating and refining tools and processes to track and manage IP assets across various information enclaves, enhancing the existing management of licensing and data rights.
As part of the Commercial Services team you will also contribute to initiatives that enhance commercial strategy and governance.
