We are looking for Subrogation Representatives to join our team. If you have strong customer focus coupled with well-developed communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills, we'd like to hear from you!

Reporting to the National Subrogation Unit Team Leader, the Subrogation Representative is accountable to investigate and negotiate the recovery owed to Definity from the responsible third parties. These types of claims will include personal and commercial property and auto losses received from claims offices across Canada.

What you can expect in this role:

  • Review and analyze claims for subrogation potential and determine the ultimate probable outcome of recovery
  • Pursue responsible parties and negotiate settlements with insurers, third parties, and legal representatives
  • Manage subrogation litigation strategy and budgets across Canada
  • Support legal proceedings and represent the company when required
  • Effectively manage a high-volume portfolio of subrogation files and related projects
  • Promote subrogation awareness and provide guidance to claims teams nationwide

What do you bring to the role:

  • University degree, college diploma, or CIP designation (completed or in progress)
  • 2–5 years of claims handling experience (subrogation experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Negotiation and litigation experience (asset)
  • Bilingual in French and English (asset)
  • Professional, courteous, and collaborative approach
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions quickly

This position is available at any one of the following locations: Halifax, Ottawa, Mississauga, North York, Waterloo, Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver

Salary range: $50,200 - $92,500

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
