Job summary

BCAA in Kelowna is hiring an Insurance Advisor to help customers select the right mix of auto, travel and home insurance products, building trust and delivering signature customer experiences. You will assess needs, explain coverage options and guide clients toward the best solutions.

The role offers a clear path to Senior Insurance Advisor within 12 months, with on-the-job training and licensing support. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced team and balance service excellence with sales goals.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in a sales and service environment, including 6 months of general insurance experience, including travel and automobile insurance.
• Level 1 Insurance license with commitment to secure Level 2 Insurance license within 12 months (BCAA provides time and cover).
• Completion of Autoplan Essentials or commitment to complete within your first 3 months (BCAA provides time and cover).
• Limited history of Errors & Omissions and in good standing with the Insurance Council of BC.
• Comfortable using technology, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Bonus qualifications: experience selling home insurance, knowledge of ICBC systems, and ability to speak other languages aside from English.

• Work with team members to recommend BCAA insurance products and services to current and new customers to meet their needs.
• Collaborate with BCAA Support Teams and Underwriting to assess and recommend the right coverage for our customers.
• Achieve sales and productivity goals while upholding BCAA and AAA/CAA Member experience goals and underwriting guidelines.
• Manage customer accounts and documentation, from processing payments to issuing new, renewal, endorsements and cancellations for Insurance policies, BCAA Memberships, and additional products and services.
• Increase your industry knowledge and expertise towards becoming a Senior Insurance Advisor within 12 months.

What you bring:

During a typical day, you will:

• Work with team members to recommend BCAA insurance products and services to current and new customers to meet their needs. You'll help them secure and/or renew their policies by reviewing current coverage and making recommendations in person and over the phone.
• Collaborate with BCAA Support Teams and Underwriting to assess and recommend the right coverage for our customers.
• Achieve sales and productivity goals while upholding BCAA and AAA/CAA Member experience goals and underwriting guidelines.
• Manage customer accounts and documentation, from processing payments to issuing new, renewal, endorsements and cancellations for Insurance policies, BCAA Memberships, and additional products and services.
• Increase your industry knowledge and expertise towards becoming a Senior Insurance Advisor within 12 months. You'll participate in BCAA's training courses, maintain annual licensing requirements and keep up to date with the latest processes, products and service offerings in the insurance industry in a supportive environment.

The salary range for this position is $48,405.36 to $60,506.64 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 21.5%.
