Job summary

Job description

We are seeking a Mill Maintenance Instrumentation Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor, the successful candidate will ensure the safe, reliable, and effective operation and maintenance of Greenstone’s stationary equipment.

This position will be on a 14-day on / 14-day off rotation, based in Geraldton, ON.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the task being performed.
  • Install, maintain, and repair stationary industrial machinery.
  • Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot various control and measurement devices used in industrial settings.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance involving inspections, cleaning, and lubricating equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in pneumatic, electronic, and microcomputer-based instruments that monitor and control parameters like pressure, flow, and temperature.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Attend all necessary on-the-job training and complete required coursework, including off-site trades education.
  • Maintain proper calibration and documentation of test equipment.
  • Keep end devices clean and clearly tagged.
  • Maintain a logbook for day-to-day work and any regulatory calibrations or repairs.
Required Experience and Skill Set
  • Experience with nuclear density gauges.
  • Experience with chemical processes and analyzer systems (e.g., TAC, WAD, pH, ORP, HCN) is considered an asset.
  • Experience in mining or other heavy industry is considered an asset.
