Instructor, Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician

The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor, Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician in Fredericton. Position Type: Casual to April 2026

Location: Fredericton

Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour, based on experience and level of post-secondary education.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A valid Automotive Service Technician Red Seal license with related years of work experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience at the Journeyperson's level, including the ability to inspect, diagnose, maintain and service current model vehicles in the automotive service industry.

Additional training in any of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Service
  • High-voltage electrical systems: Inverters, converters, battery packs and electric motors
  • Charging station operation
  • Manufacturer-specific EV Certifications
  • Battery management systems: Diagnostics, lifecycle management, and thermal regulation

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

Responsibilities

As part of the School of Professional and Part-time Learning, collaborating with and reporting to the Business Development Operations Manager, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources for the in-person delivery of the Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician microcredential; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders, as well as other related duties.

  • Electrical System Review
  • Introduction to Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
  • Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems
  • High Voltage Batteries
  • Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Support Systems
  • A culture that is focused on nurturing a sense of belonging for all employees.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Free access to an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE - Education (Instructional) Group collective agreement for the College.
