A Northern educational institution is seeking an Instructor for Developmental Studies to plan and deliver educational programming to adults. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education or related field, along with at least 2 years of instructional experience. This role involves instructing Humanities and Science courses, evaluating student progress, and engaging in program meetings. The Instructor, Developmental Studies is responsible for the planning, organization, instruction, delivery and evaluation of educational programming for adults. Your main focus will be to instruct Humanities courses at a Grade 11/12 level and Science course at a Grade 10 level. You will also be responsible for instructing courses related to the Developmental Studies Program as well as teaching diploma level courses in other programs such as General Studies, Business Administration or Environment and Natural Resource Technology programs. As the Instructor, you will be evaluating the courses, supervising students in practical environments, and recommending changes/improvements as required.
Instruction can be scheduled in a number of ways depending on the delivery approach of the particular course and/or program (e.g. semester, block, distance delivery, evening).
As an instructor, you are required to attend regular program meetings, and report regularly to his/her supervisor on student progress. As part of the College team, instructors are also required to complete a variety of non-instructional duties that may be required to attain the goals of Aurora College.
