Position Information Job Title Instructional Assistant - Grande Prairie Appointment Type Casual Position Dates As required Hours per week / FTE Varies About the Position The Lethbridge College’s Centre for Justice and Human Services is seeking applicants to create an inventory / pool of casual Instructional Assistants who are located in Grande Prairie.

The part time, casual CJHS Instructional Assistant has a complex and vital role within the Lethbridge College Police Cadet program. The main objective of this position is to perform as an actor and assist in the facilitation of leading-edge simulation and scenario-based experiential learning for the training and assessment of students. The position reports to the Dean of the Centre for Justice and Human Services. Position Details The Instructional Assistant performs as an actor and assists in the facilitation of leading-edge simulation and scenario-based experiential learning for the training and assessment of students. This involves participating in simulation and scenario-based exercises, memorizing scenario scripts, as well as discussing edits or adaptations during simulated learning scenarios.

The Instructional assistant will provide support, feedback and encouragement to students during practice time and assessment scenarios. The Instructional Assistant will also assist in the evaluation of students’ performance through the provision of feedback and participation in exercise debriefing

The Instructional Assistant requires excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills along with the ability to be self-motivated and flexible. Required Qualifications Two-year diploma with experience in acting and / or role playing

The Instructional Assistant should have either specific training in the dramatic arts or formal education and have various levels of expertise in acting and / or role playing; combination of education and experience may be considered

Exceptional time management, organizational, planning, communication and priority-setting skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment is required.

Flexibility to work within a variety of areas, both independently and in a team environment.
