Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a Cook for a permanent part-time day role in Barrie, ON. Typical duties include setting up equipment, preparing meals per production sheets, and ensuring diets and portions meet guidelines.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12, Safe Food Handling/Smart Serve certificates, and experience in institutional settings. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada and pass security checks.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum education required.
• Valid Safe Food Handling and/or Smart Serve cert.
• Experience cooking in institutional/health care/restaurant/hospitality.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
• Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets and recipes.
• Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portions.
• Monitoring quality of food supplies and advising on corrective action.
• In the absence of the team leader, assumes dept. operations and related duties.
• Assist in orientation and training of new team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
