  • Job Description Summary

    Manufacturing Quality Control work includes: Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards. Testing random samples of finished goods. Reporting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods and liaising with Quality Assurance to troubleshoot and resolve problems. An Experienced Para-Professional (S2) requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education. May require the following proficiency: Works under moderate supervision. Problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.

    General information:

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct regular quality evaluations of all incoming materials from suppliers
    • Read technical plans, electrical diagrams, and specifications to understand and apply product and service requirements.
    • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare products to specifications.
    • Reject all products and materials that do not meet quality expectations and contribute to root cause analysis.
    • Document inspection results by filling out detailed reports
    • Prepare and ensure compliance of quality documentation, including that which will be presented to the client with the product.
    • Use internal systems, such as SAP, Poka, QN, product identification, etc.
    • Participate in various improvement committees.
    • Share knowledge and experiences with less experienced staff.

    Qualifications:

    • DEP including a module on reading plans or equivalent experience in inspection.
    • 0 to 12 months of experience.
    • Knowledge of reading plans and Office suite are required.
    • Behavioral skills: teamwork, self-control, impact and influence, communication, firmness.
    • Knowledge of the metric and international system.
    • Work environment: working outside, driving vehicles and elevated platforms.
    • Knowledge of welding (an asset).
