Job summary

BDO Canada seeks a candidate to join our team in an in-office role focused on personal debt solutions. You will assess debtor situations, advise options, and assist debtors and creditors, while preparing client files for signing and engaging with the community to promote services.

The position values collaboration, integrity, and empathy within a fast-paced environment. English/French bilingualism is an asset, and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in Customer Service or financial services banking or credit counseling
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset
  • Available to work one evening shift a week until 7:30pm
  • Detail oriented in a fast-paced environment

Your Opportunity

This is a replacement role, and this position entails maintaining an in-office presence by completing the following duties:

  • Perform initial consultations to assess the debtor’s situation and recommend appropriate options. Training will be provided.
  • Assist debtors and creditors, both in person and by telephone, as it relates to bankruptcies and proposals.
  • Review interview forms, and prepare files and documents for client signing.
  • Community outreach, business development, presentations, and use of social media to promote personal debt solutions offerings.

Your Experience And Education
  • Previous insolvency experience (assets preferred but not required).
  • 2 years or more in Customer Service, financial services banking, credit counseling, or other relevant area.
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members, debtors, and creditors.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in various situations.
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be an asset.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • A team player who can also work independently.
  • Available to work one evening shift a week until 7:30pm.
Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this role is: $45,000 to $77,000 annually.
