About the Team

Instacart’s Brand Insights Team sits within the Commercial Organization; at the intersection of Instacart’s unparalleled industry data, our most important grocery and non‑grocery retail partnerships, and vast CPG category data. The team’s mission statement is to expand our understanding of e‑commerce customer trends by leveraging data and insights to support key client relationships, drive ad revenue, and enhance the overall effectiveness of Instacart’s advertising solutions.

About the Role

This Insight Manager’s overall objective is to leverage data to produce actionable insight around clients’ performance on Instacart to:

  • Help them drive category and brand conversion
  • Help them build a profile of the e‑comm consumer for their brands
  • Help Instacart’s sales team drive more advertising investment
  • Become a ‘trusted advisor’ on how to win in ecommerce!
About the Job

You will support multiple clients within a category group and work with our multiple sales and account management teams to:

  • Identify the key business drivers for our brand partners and make actionable recommendations to grow the business
  • Integrate consumer and customer insight to better inform targeted strategies
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams and an ability to present directly to brand teams of various levels
  • Integrate data from a variety of sources to identify key trends and emerging solutions for the partner and customer
  • Apply the full suite of tools and metrics available against business issues including but not limited to:
    • Sales, share, distribution, assortment, etc
    • Basket analytics such as cross shop, penetration, affinities, etc
    • Customer analytics such as trial/repeat, conversion, buy rate, etc
  • Go beyond the data and craft compelling storylines to engage our partners
About You
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years analytical experience, preference if also within consumer packaged goods or ecommerce industry
  • Strong experience with Excel and/or Google Suite, Tableau and/or Mode dashboards
  • Basic knowledge of SQL required, with willingness to learn
  • Ability to draw conclusions from large amounts of data and summarize findings in concise manner to problem solve
  • Detail oriented with ability to produce accurate work quickly & efficiently
  • Independent worker with self‑starter mentality; takes initiative
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to comprehend and sell concepts within the context of Brand Partnerships
  • Strong presentation skills are required
  • Ability to learn and apply different software applications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference to candidates in New York City, Chicago, or Toronto areas
