Job summary

A leading electrical distributor in Vancouver is seeking a Customer Service Representative to develop and maintain positive customer relationships. Scope of the Position

Responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships and ensuring that customers are satisfied with regard to order taking, product, pricing, deliveries and overall service.

Major Responsibilities
  • Contact current customers and identify new products and potential upsell opportunities.
  • Respond to and process incoming calls and orders.
  • Open new accounts.
  • Develop customer base and sales leads by making cold and warm calls.
  • Enter orders into system.
  • Maintain knowledge base on current products and stay updated on new products.
  • Identify product(s) the customer requires that may not be stocked by the Company and source the product(s).
  • Provide pricing quotations, follow up on quotes and offer technical support on products.
  • Handle procurement for direct orders and do counter sales.
  • Assist in shipping & receiving: daily verify orders and fill-in if the shipper/receiver is absent.
  • Manage credits/debits, returns and troubleshoot freight problems, expediting, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries and close orders.
  • Other duties as required.
Education & Training
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Post Secondary courses in Sales and/or Marketing preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Experience
  • 3 years related experience.
  • Product knowledge or industry experience preferred.

We may pay at a rate outside of the range for this role where appropriate. Actual compensation is commensurate with the candidate’s experience, education, internal parity, role complexity, role level and other relevant factors. The advertised salary range relates to British Columbia and is provided in accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act. We recognize that salaries may be driven by market forces in the local area where a candidate is based and accordingly the salary range may not apply outside of British Columbia.
