A leading project management firm is seeking an Innovation Project Manager to oversee technology trials and demonstrations. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in project management, strong English skills, and a relevant degree. The role is contract-based and supports innovation efforts across various customer segments, with a focus on energy management technologies. The position offers an hourly salary range of CAD 59 to 69.

Work Assignment Overview: Management tracking and coordination of innovation projects. Including project management vendor management procurement administration data analysis and market research.

Max INC Rate: $69.81 /
Max T4 Rate: $59.16 /
A minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent.
Plan direct and report on infrastructure and other construction project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits resources and status and creating documents such as project plans action logs communication plans status reports and post implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned.
Develop project plans and risk management plans for low to medium risk infrastructure or other construction projects with a capital cost that is generally up to $20 million for effective management throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage multiple activities effectively such as quality assurance engineering First Nations and stakeholder engagement communication regulatory approvals procurement planning and controls construction management pre‑commissioning employee relations and safety by using project management principles in monitoring progress and establishing standards for implementation to keep the project within allotted time and budget.
Complete project management activities including scoping planning managing monitoring and reporting on project tasks by using intermediate skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill BC Hydros business needs.
Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders including customers engineers and field crews through regular communication using excellent verbal written and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Business Economics or related discipline
Bachelor's degree Engineering an asset
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred
Intermediate MS Office skills (Word Excel PowerPoint and Project)
Advanced English skills for professional environment written and spoken
As a Innovation project manager this role will support the innovation team by delivering new technology; Trials Pilots Demonstrations and Research. This includes but is not limited to new energy management products and services. The position will support multiple program managers on larger projects and independently manage trials pilots and research projects. The successful candidate will have experience in project management program / product development and the management of multiple projects. The candidate will need to work with other product teams to transition trials and testing into new product offerings and new operational initiatives. The role will require abilities in working in cross‑functional teams and external stakeholder / vendor relationship management. The position will be results‑oriented have an exceptional customer centric orientation and take a practical and creative approach to effectively resolve problems. The position will directly support the implementation of new technology; trials demonstrations and testing utilizing best practices in research analytics data analysis and research design.
