Profile

The Innovation Advisor will play a critical role in advancing the firm’s innovation and legal technology strategy. Reporting to the Director of Practice Technology, the Advisor will support the design, implementation, and adoption of legal technology solutions—with a strong focus on generative AI—that enhance lawyer efficiency, client value, and firm-wide competitiveness. This role is ideal for someone who combines project management and business analysis skills with a passion for innovation, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is eager to help drive modernization initiatives across practice groups.

This position can be based in any of our Canadian offices!

Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with lawyers and practice group leaders to understand workflows, challenges, and opportunities for technology and AI integration.
  • Documenting business requirements and mapping current processes to identify areas for AI-driven efficiency.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of tailored AI-enabled solutions for specific legal practice areas.
  • Leading project planning, onboarding, training, and ongoing support for generative AI and other legal tech tools.
  • Acting as a primary contact for day-to-day questions, feedback, and troubleshooting related to AI tools and processes.
  • Capturing and sharing success stories to promote adoption and reduce resistance to change.
  • Collecting and analyzing data on technology usage, adoption, and effectiveness, and preparing reports and dashboards to track KPIs and ROI.
  • Translating business needs into actionable insights to continuously improve AI programs.
  • Monitoring emerging trends in generative AI and legal technology and preparing briefing notes for leadership.
  • Evaluating pilot programs and proof-of-concept projects using structured business analysis approaches.
  • Coordinating vendor engagement activities including meetings, demos, and feedback sessions.
  • Designing and delivering workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns focused on practical AI applications.
  • Contributing to internal communications and marketing efforts to promote innovation and highlight success stories.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in law, business, or technology.
  • 2–4 years of experience in legal technology, practice support, innovation, or professional services.
  • Strong project management and business analysis skills, with a proven ability to coordinate initiatives and translate requirements into deliverables.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application in legal workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), project management software, and data visualization platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with lawyers and staff.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data effectively.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable learning, piloting, and championing new AI-driven tools.
  • Curious, adaptable, and motivated by innovation and continuous improvement in the legal sector.
