Job summary

BrainBox AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cloud Building Management System (CBMS) team in Montréal, QC. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems in Python using a microservices approach, with cloud-native patterns on AWS or GCP.

You will work on real-time data pipelines, IoT integration, and building automation protocols, while guiding architecture decisions and mentoring teammates in a hybrid/remote environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience with Python.
• Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP cloud services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, S3; Pub/Sub; BigQuery).
• Experience with NoSQL (Cassandra) and relational (PostgreSQL) databases.
• Experience with Kafka and Redis; CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication; able to work in remote/hybrid environments.
