Qualifications

  • Active membership with O.I.Q.

Job Description

Within the engineering department, the successful candidate will support daily production operations, optimize operational performance, and contribute to automation development projects.

Main Responsibilities:

Support daily production operations:

  • Monitor daily performance in a growth environment and provide technical support to manufacturing and packaging teams across all sectors: washing, manufacturing units, packaging, etc.
  • Have knowledge of manufacturing and packaging equipment and train operators on new practices.
  • Implement monitoring systems to anticipate potential issues and intervene to minimize production interruptions.
  • Quickly identify and resolve automated system failures by collaborating with maintenance teams for prompt and lasting solutions.
  • Participate in and/or lead problem-solving processes and ensure follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Provide ongoing training to operational staff on automated systems and basic troubleshooting procedures.

Improve operational performance:

  • Regularly evaluate system performance through operational data analysis to identify areas for optimization.
  • Propose and implement improvements to existing automated processes to increase efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance quality.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate system effectiveness and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay updated with technological advancements and evaluate deployment possibilities at the plant.

Support automation projects:

  • Collaborate with operational teams to understand specific requirements and define automation project objectives.
  • During equipment purchase or modification, determine needs, draft specifications, review P&ID diagrams, write functional analyses, perform similarity reports, etc.
  • Participate in designing and developing automated solutions using appropriate technologies, ensuring integration with existing systems.
  • Assist project teams in implementing new equipment, modifications, cleaning procedures, and processes, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or industrial automation
  • Active membership with O.I.Q
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment within the pharmaceutical and/or cosmetic industry
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical (GMP) and regulatory (US/Canada) environments
  • Interest in equipment and industrial automation
  • Bilingualism (English/French) in speaking and writing
