About the Infrastructure Specialist Position
At Verndale the Infrastructure team is responsible for the technology, security, software and hardware used by all employees. The infrastructure specialist will be an integral part of this critical and highly visible team tasked with empowering all employees to perform their jobs in the most efficient and secure way possible. As an infrastructure specialist, you will also support Verndale's clients, Azure hosting environments, as well as Verndale's 24x7 help desk acting as an escalation point. The qualified candidate must be able to work with limited supervision and participate in on-call rotations as needed. (On-site in Montreal)

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming requests made via web, email, or phone within agreed-upon levels in customer service level agreements.
  • Identify and organize tickets and internal initiatives according to priority.
  • Update and maintain internal process documentation.
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot corporate environments and applications to support Verndale's employees and clients.
  • Provide technical support and training for colleagues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, leadership, and cross-functional team members to meet business goals.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and ensure uptime of services.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong English communication both verbally and in writing
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize a large number of tasks at any given time.
  • Experience working in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
  • Knowledge of security principles and best practices
  • Experience managing cloud environments (Microsoft Azure preferred)
  • Experience managing Atlassian Jira/Confluence
  • Experience with Enterprise Identity and Access Management (Entra ID / Azure AD, Active Directory)
  • Experience with Windows desktop / Windows Server / MacOS / Linux
  • Advanced knowledge of computer setup, support, and networking principles
  • Prior experience with infrastructure and application monitoring tools
  • French Proficiency
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Suite (Exchange Online, Outlook, Office applications)
