To perform the clerical and/orreceptionist duties within the Information Services portfolio: Reception /Registration / Switchboard / Health Data functional areas.
POSITIONRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Updatepatient demographic Information and Register Patient visit data into theMeditech System.
- Enter/ update required information into ERNI, CRITICAL and other web-based programsas needed.
- Interactand take directions with/from Patients, Visitors and other staff, asrequired.
- Requiredto communicate effectively with people at all levels, in person and on thetelephone, when providing or obtaining information.
- Usingyour skilled clerical perception, you will be required to accuratelyobserve pertinent details contained within written material and whendocumenting received data and/or filing reports.
- Youmust be alert, possess a good memory, present a pleasant personality andemploy tact and diplomacy in always carrying out the positionresponsibilities.
- Youwill be required to handle highly sensitive information confidentially.
- Mustmaintain good working relationships with departmental staff, health careproviders and all other hospital staff as per the Respectful WorkplacePolicy established at TADH.
- Toperform other departmental responsibilities as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalentrequired. Post-secondary graduates from an Office Administration, MedicalAdministration, Business Administration or other related graduate program ismandatory.
- Previous work experience in theclerical office environment and knowledge of medical terminology would be anasset.
- Musthave the ability to perform / apply routine office procedures / clerical tasks(typing 40 wpm, filing rapidly and accurately).
- Musthave strong abilities to work with computer data entry systems.
- Intermediateto advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must have the ability to workindependently and demonstrate initiative with minimal supervision within a teamenvironment.
- Musthave excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
- Must have the clerical perception tocheck entries such as names, titles and chart numbers and to file material inproper sequence.
- Must possess the ability to understandinstructions, and to exercise good judgment when meeting and dealing withpatients, visitors, and other professionals.
- Employment history which demonstratesregular attendance at work.
- Must have the physical ability to workwhile sitting or standing most of the working day and be able to bend, reach,lift and crouch while using departmental files.
- Must be flexible with shifts.
- Current resume is required and mustpass a security check.
- Current registration, switchboard,chart assembly and scanning experience would be an asset.

Compensation and Benefits
- Startingsalary of $26.45/hour; $51,577.50/year (As per Step 1 of the STW collectiveagreement.)
- Option toenroll in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
