Sun Life Financial is seeking an Information Security Advisor to support risk assessment and compliance for information security initiatives across business units. You will review contracts, advise on controls, and work with various teams to safeguard Sun Life’s confidential information.
The role requires 5+ years in information security, cloud experience with SaaS, and strong communication, reporting and negotiation skills. This position is hybrid in Canada with a focus on Toronto, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director, Security Advisory Services, the Information Security Advisor will assist business units with risk assessment and compliance matters as it relates to Information Security. The Information Security Advisor will conduct information security risk assessments on initiatives, third-party suppliers/external vendors, applications, perform security contract reviews, advise on security best practices, and review emerging security strategies. The Information Security Advisor interacts with various Sun Life business groups and teams, including but not limited to, Business, Architecture, Infrastructure, Legal, Compliance and Risk, and Privacy teams.
This role requires Reliability Status Clearance. In addition to a law enforcement inquiry and a credit check, as part of your application, the Government of Canada will ask if you lived or travelled outside of Canada for 6-consecutive months during the last 5 years, and you must account for all activities during this time. Important: Obtaining Reliability Status Clearance within a reasonable amount of time is a condition required to start employment for this role at Sun Life.
Salary Range: 65,000/65 000 - 105,000/105 000
