A local government body in British Columbia is seeking a clerical support staff member to manage public interaction and perform various office functions. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 education, relevant training, and strong Microsoft Office skills. This position requires a valid BC driver's license and may involve exposure to sensitive matters.

Reporting to the Manager, RCMP Support Services, this position will be responsible for a variety of clerical functions including public interaction at the front counter, answering calls, civil fingerprinting, police information checks, local police checks for record suspensions (pardons), serve subpoenas and other documents, receive and record found property, document and direct enquiries and complaints from the public, provide information and interpret Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws, create operational files utilizing PRIME, receive and process incoming/outgoing mail and courier packages. Maintain daily cash and balance cash totals at the end of day. Provide training as required relating to front desk procedures. This position involves high volume workloads where independence, collaboration, effective communication and judgment skills are a must. Deployment to other duties may be required from time to time. This position may be exposed to graphic and explicit subject matter.
