Information Architect & Technical Design Lead
On behalf of our Utilities client, Procom is searching for an Information Architect & Technical Design Lead for a long-term role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Edmonton office.
Job Description
Procom is recruiting for an Information Architect & Technical Design Lead to support our Corporate Intranet Modernization Project, migrating our intranet capabilities to M365. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of a modern corporate intranet platform, ensuring alignment with business requirements, governance standards, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead role within the Corporate Intranet Modernization Project team.
- Define and implement intranet governance frameworks and content lifecycle policies.
- Design the overall intranet structure including site architecture, navigation, and metadata strategy.
- Develop reusable templates and components to support consistent content creation.
- Guide SharePoint Online developers in implementing the technical design.
- Collaborate with business analysts, content owners, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Ensure compliance with client's governance, security, and accessibility standards.
- Document IA, technical, and design decisions.
- Design and deliver training materials and sessions to support intranet adoption.
- Provide technical leadership throughout migration and post-deployment phases.
Mandatory Skills
- Proven experience implementing corporate intranets using SharePoint Online.
- Strong understanding of integration capabilities with Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage, and Viva Connections.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in information architecture and technical design for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
- Expertise in intranet governance, metadata design, navigation planning, and template development.
- Experience implementing custom solutions using PowerApps and Power Automate.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, site collections, permissions, and content types.
- Proficiency in SPFx, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Microsoft Graph API.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with migration tools such as ShareGate.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and integration with SharePoint.
- Experience with Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Graph API.
- Knowledge of corporate intranet design principles and user experience best practices.
- Experience working in hybrid environments and with Agile project teams.
Assignment Length
This is a long-term contract position ending on July 31, 2026, with potential extension.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 2 days onsite per week.
