Job summary

Brightshores is seeking an Infection Prevention & Control Practitioner in Owen Sound to plan, implement, and evaluate infection prevention functions. You will educate, consult, perform surveillance, investigations, and help develop evidence-informed policies.

The role collaborates across disciplines and liaises with external agencies to ensure patient safety and safe hospital operations. Qualified candidates will hold a health care designation, a health-care-related Bachelor's degree, and IPAC

Qualifications

• Registered health professional designation (RN, MLT, or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in health care-related field.
• IPAC Canada-approved Infection Prevention and Control course.
• CIC certification or eligibility within two years of hire.
• Minimum three years acute care experience preferred; minimum one year infection control experience.
• Knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and infectious diseases.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; willingness to collaborate.
• Experience with education, training, and adult learning techniques.

Responsibilities

• Education, consultation, surveillance and investigation in infection prevention.
• Develop policies and procedures to promote best practices.
• Collaborate with health care teams to improve patient safety.
• Liaise with external institutions on infection control matters.
• Travel to all sites weekly as required; participate in after-hours events when needed.
