Job summary

Cefa Kitsilano is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to provide compassionate care for infants and toddlers at our Vancouver location. You will implement developmentally appropriate activities and monitor children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.

On-site work only, with teamwork support from fellow educators. Responsibilities include leading activities, preparing crafts and snacks, and maintaining a safe environment while coordinating with staff and reporting to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Experience working in early childhood education settings.
• Ability to follow care routines for infants and toddlers.
• Strong communication with parents and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest.
• Encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and report to parents or supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
• Plan and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.

TASKS
