Job summary

Weir Canada, Inc. in Surrey, BC is seeking a Sandblasting Technician to join our onsite operations.

You will work Monday to Thursday, 4:00 PM to 4:30 AM in a 12-hour shift, with safety as a top priority and hands-on responsibilities in preparation of equipment. You will handle equipment, perform sandblasting to achieve a white metal finish, apply primers and adhesives, and ensure proper documentation and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• High School completion.
• Willingness to work in hands-on environment during 12-hour shifts.
• Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
• Ability to wear a respirator safely (WorkSafe BC requirements).

Responsibilities

• Equipment handling: move steel spools and products into the sandblasting booth using forklift and overhead crane.
• Sandblasting operations: perform sandblasting to achieve a white metal finish on equipment surfaces.
• Adhesive application: apply primers and adhesives to prepare equipment for next stages.
• Documentation & compliance: complete required paperwork and traveler information for traceability and compliance with company standards.
• Safety first: demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors and safety culture.
